How Do I Read BCNL Nutrient Charts?
One thing that BCNL takes great pride in is our customer service.
We really, really, really want you to grow some good stuff, and so we do our best to provide the best support as possible.
We've also developed a really comprehensive nutrient guide for you so that you can—you guessed it—get the best grows ever!
There was a lot of testing that went into this, so we know that these exact measurements, these exact times, are what you need to follow to get the best grows ever.
To make it abundantly clear as to what you need to do, we're going to break our nutrient chart down for you.
To start, there are two growing stages: vegging and flowering.
Vegging is when your plants grow their beautiful, luscious roots. But more importantly, it's growing the structure of the plants. As long as the lights are on for 18 hours a day, and off for six, the plants will simply keep growing branches, leaves, and roots.
Once they get to a certain point, when your plants reach 8-10 inches in height, that's when you switch your machine over to flowering. Your lights are on for 12 hours, off for 12 hours.
And flowering is when your buds form. Et voilà: your sticky ickies.
Our charts are separated into these two stages:
Let's take a look at the veg portion first.
With each stage, start from the top, and work down adding the nutrients that came in your package. So let's take a look at the first BloomBox veg chart that comes with the BloomBox grow manual:
So, for example, if you're using Common nutrients, for week #1 you would be adding 11.5 mL of Common into your nutrient tub, mixing it with the water, and feeding it into the basin for your roots.
PPM levels (the last line), are also included to give you an idea of how much nutrients you should have in your water if you were to measure your water with the PPM tester.
Weeks 2, 3, and 4 are also clearly laid out to show you how much nutrients you should be adding.
The difference in the types of nutrients you use is really based on what you decided to commit to. For example, BCNL's Gold Pack also offers Veg Bloom Plus and Prop-O-Gator—just a few more nutrients for you to play with to get a great grow.
The flowering section might be a little more confusing for some. See below:
This may be due to the fact that you have your base flower nutrients, and any add ons like the Silver Additives or the Gold Additives (see below).
Similar to the charts above, the PPM levels are included simply to show you how much nutrients you have in your water (if you were to measure with the PPM tester).
With the Silver and Gold nutrients, you just add whatever that week tells you to, and that exact amount. Remember: the numbers across the top (from 1 to 8) is the week your grow's in.
And honestly, that's pretty much it.
If you get stuck despite having read this handy little guide, don't sweat it; call us any time at BCNL and we'll sort you right out.
After all, that's what we're here for!
