There wasn't a bad vibe for miles, for a short time there it really seemed like the Summer of Love was back, and for those that attended Epic Daze it was back. Somehow the spirit of San Francisco combined with the mood of the concert resurrected the sights, sounds and even the scents that were 1969. Writing this I found myself day dreaming I was back among the good tunes, good people, and good times that is Epic Daze.

"A little after midnight, Eagles of Death Metal finally grace the stage with their presence. What was so cool about this night is that The Mezzanine is small venue. I can't even remember the last time I saw Eagles play in a venue that small. There were no stage barriers or a photo pit, and uh, no security. I guess the venue assumed that everyone would be SO stoned, that security won't even be needed. My friend and I found a rad spot upfront before their set and took it!

As Eagles of Death Metal fans may know now, beloved bassist, Brian "Big Hands" O'Connor, was recently diagnosed with cancer and out for awhile ... while Dean Fertita (Dead Weather, Queens of the Stone Age) takes over on the bass for current shows until Brian returns... The entire set was incredible, more so than usual."

An Even Epicer Daze?

Hey,

Thanks to all the night lovers who managed to come out for an epic night. After a successful trade show during the day as part of the 1st ever Medical Cannabis Cup put on by High Times, BCNL was ready to own the night.

As part of the 1st Epic Daze show put on by BC Northern Lights, Stand Down started off by waking the crowd up with some good ol' metal then Ila Mawana kept the party live with a smooth ska sound.

Jonny Kaplan and the Lazy Stars warmed the peeps with their unique style of Americana including a killer cover of Country Joe and the Fish's classic "Don't bogart that joint".

DJ Ras MG took the stage and blew up his set and it was a quick change over to Lyrics Born who forced the funk on the faithful.

Last but not least, Eagles of Death Metal brought the house down with a killer set. We got to make friends with EODM over the weekend and what a treat it was. These guys are big fans of the tomato and we made fast friends.

With Myles (aka Big Sexy) pilfering their booze and acting as their personal fluffer, we had a great weekend all the way through.

Not to be outshined by the amazing bands there were live artists that had the back alley on lockdown. Tony from Goodstash orchestrated some amazing glass pieces with his traveling glass blowing show. Graham, our friend from GrassRoots tagged a Bloombox live with some brilliant art. We will be doing a giveaway for this beauty so keep your heads up.

Our friends at Absinthe Films were had some vids playing on the big screen all night long as the bands rocked out.

Eddie managed to set up a deal for our own Epic Daze ale through the legendary Rogue Brewery where we had a party to meet some of the new BCNL shred team.

We did a raffle over the weekend at both the Cup trade show and the Epic Daze party for a shiny new Bloombox and we drew a winner in Jake Howdyshell. Jake was stoked and promises to keep us in the loop with some prize winning product shots.

We have a small video (coming next week) of some good debauchery that we threw down at our 1st attempt at Epic Daze . Maybe the next show will be called "Epicer Daze" until we feel we have moved up to "Epicist Daze" status? We believe there can only be 1 "Epicist Daze" party as we will probably burn the place down with a fireworks show gone wrong, or a botched glass blowing display. The next Epic Daze is coming this winter and it will be introducing the new BCNL sponsored riders, so keep an eye out for more details...

Epic Daze Update

Unless your an asshole, you have probably heard about the party BC Northern Lights is hosting at the High Times Medical Cannabis Cup called Epic Daze.

With Epic Daze under two weeks away the buzz is getting pretty buzzy. There's even word that this could turn into a pants off dance off. The phone has been blowing up with inquiries about the party so if you still haven't gotten your tickets then give us a call.

We'll be picking up Eagles of Death Metal in Santa Cruz before the show so if they look a little hazy you can blame it on us. Also, we'll be raffling off a Bloombox at the show, so keep an eye out for the BCNL staff girls who will be selling tickets.

Tons of fun lined up at Epic Daze: glass blowing, an artist competition, games, and a metric shit-ton of all star bands. Our good friends at Absinthe will be showing there latest gem "Neverland" all night, stage right. We've also got a "Find the Nugz" gaming center setup in the Mezzanine so you can get your nerd on.

Epic Daze party getting even more epic?

With 8 bands now been added to the set list this party is turning into a freaking festival. Legends like Keith Murray and Grand Daddy Purps have been added to the playlist and are gonna kick ass.

Most of you have probably heard about our "Find the Nugz" game contest. It's been going awesome as BCNL fans burn through the night to post the best score. We've found two winners who will be coming to San Fran with us to party it up and battle for a BCNL box. Plus, we have developed a final battle for the 2 that is sure to leave them dazed.
